I had a very non-linear path before I discovered a passion of Public Relations. I first went to York University for Professional & Creative Writing for a Bachelor of Liberal Arts. After three years of the program, I realized YorkU was not the place for me even though I loved writing. I transferred to McMaster University to study Multimedia & Communications. There I learned how to become a jack of all trades, and a master of none. I rediscovered my passions for the arts through photography, videography, graphic design and more. My program consisted of students who would collaborate and compliment each other’s skills, and my professors created an open atmosphere that encouraged us to comfortably ask critical questions.
While studying my undergrad (2011-2018), I became a freelance writer for an EDM blog in Toronto called EDMTOR. After a couple years I left that blog to help my friends start our own blog called Euphoradio. I am still a part of this blog today (since 2015). I am the main writer for the blog, I interview DJs, write event reviews, opinion pieces and lots more. I also use this platform to expand my photography and video skills.
Since 2014, I have started my own business as well called HempTingz; I make, sell and market handmade jewelry made from hemp, crystals, clay and other recycled materials. This brand has been my sole focus over the past two years. I have been a vendor at Supercrawl, Festival of Friends, Sound of Music Festival, and the monthly Art Crawls that take place in downtown Hamilton. I run my own social media campaigns and channels, pick my target audiences, keep engagement with customers & fans and even take custom requests/deliveries.
My entrepreneur skills and love of writing and multimedia have brought me to Niagara College, to enrol for Public Relations.
